Who is responsible for your data, what we keep, why, where, and how to delete it.

Updated 1 October 2026

Who is responsible

The controller of your personal data is Individual Entrepreneur Dmitry Bayko, Georgia: identification number 345741085, registered on 21 March 2024, address — 38 Tbel Abuseridze Street, apartment 63, Batumi, Georgia. Below, “we”.

Questions and requests about your data: [email protected].

This policy follows the Law of the Republic of Belarus on Personal Data Protection and the Law of Georgia on Personal Data Protection.

Without an account

You can browse without signing up. Saved events then live only in your browser; we do not keep them on our server.

Without your consent the site keeps in your browser only the technical records it cannot work without: your sign-in, the chosen city, your saved events and your answer in the cookie bar.

Analytics — PostHog (EU servers) and Google Analytics (US servers) — load only if you press «Accept» in the cookie bar. They count views and taps so we can see how people find events. Google signals and ad personalisation are off in Google Analytics. Press «Keep necessary only» and the analytics scripts are never downloaded.

Separately, without cookies or consent, we count how many times event and organizer pages are opened — organizers see these numbers. So as not to count one person twice we keep an encrypted fingerprint of the IP address for 30 minutes, from which the address itself cannot be recovered, and then delete it. Only the number stays in the statistics.

Some event covers are Unsplash photos. Their rules require the images to load straight from their servers in the US, so Unsplash sees your IP address, as any site an image loads from does. The sign-in pages likewise load the «Sign in with Google» button.

With an account

We keep your email, a hash of your password (we never know the password itself), your name, interface language, saved events and the organizers you follow. If you use the bot, also your Telegram id, city, interests, time zone, the hours for notifications and the organizer accounts you added yourself. With Telegram sign-in, your Telegram id, name, @username and profile photo link; we do not ask for your phone number. With Google sign-in, your Google account id, email, name and photo link.

If you write to support, we keep the conversation and the files you attach.

Emails are only about your account and your own business on Gnezdo: confirming the address, a welcome, resetting or changing the password or email, organizer claims and moderators’ messages about them, reminders to organizers about their regular events. No marketing.

Why, and on what grounds

Your account, saved events, follows, reminders and account emails — so the service works as the Terms describe. The ground is our agreement with you, the Terms; no separate consent is needed.

Organizer claims and the conversation about them — to check the profile is yours and to get in touch. Support requests — to answer them. Same ground.

Analytics — only with your consent in the cookie bar. Changed your mind? Clear the site’s data in your browser: the bar comes back and you can press «Keep necessary only».

Organizers

Announcements, descriptions and avatars of organizers come from their public Instagram and Telegram pages — information the organizers made public themselves. When a profile is claimed we keep the contacts given in the claim, to verify it and get in touch.

If you are an organizer and would rather not be listed, write to [email protected] and we will remove you.

Who else handles data

Our hosting and database providers, photo storage, analytics service and email delivery service process data on our behalf. We have agreements with them: they cannot use your data for their own purposes.

Reminders and notifications go through Telegram. Telegram or Google sign-in happens on their own pages, if you choose it. We do not sell data or share it with ad networks.

Where the data lives

Servers, the database, files and PostHog analytics are in the European Union — in Germany and the Netherlands. EU countries and Georgia are parties to the Council of Europe Convention on data protection, and Belarus recognises their level of protection as adequate.

With Google sign-in your data is processed by Google in the United States. If you pressed «Accept» in the cookie bar, views and taps are processed by Google Analytics — also in the United States. We collect and read organizers’ public posts with data-collection and machine text-analysis services that also run in the United States. Unsplash covers load from their servers in the US. The US is not on the list of countries with an adequate level of protection: its laws may give the authorities more access to data and people fewer rights. So only what is necessary goes there: Google sign-in and Google Analytics are your choice, and readers’ data never goes into reading announcements.

How long we keep it

Your account and everything tied to it — for as long as you use it. When you delete the account we erase it straight away; in database backups the data stays until they are overwritten on schedule.

Support requests stay after the account is deleted but are detached from it, so the history of answers is not lost. What you saved in the browser without an account stays only with you.

Google Analytics data on views and taps — 2 months, after which Google deletes it.

Deleting

Delete your account on the Account page: your email, saved events, follows, organizer claims and Telegram link are removed. What you saved in the browser without an account goes with «Clear all» or with the site’s data.

Your rights

You can find out what data we keep about you and why; ask us to correct it; find out whom we have passed it to; ask us to stop processing and delete it; withdraw your consent to analytics.

Write to [email protected], ideally from the address on your account. We will tell you what we keep within 5 working days and do the rest within 15 days.

Changes

The date of the last change is at the top. We will tell you in advance about significant changes, including a change of controller.
