The ascent leads to Uhuru Peak, Africa’s highest point at 5895 metres.
What happens
- Over the course of a week, the route passes through tropical forest inhabited by colobus monkeys and high-altitude moorland. Along the way, there are views of Mawenzi and Kibo, near-lunar landscapes and the rugged high-altitude terrain before the summit.
- The main day begins at night. Participants leave Kibo Camp at an altitude of 4700 metres and begin the final ascent. First, they climb to the crater rim, then continue to the sign reading UHURU PEAK - 5895 M and reach the roof of Africa.
Who leads it
The group is accompanied by local guides, porters and cooks.
Good to know
- Meals are provided along the route, and overnight stays are in mountain huts.
- The price includes transfers, the work of the local team, park fees and permits, meals during the climb, drinking water, overnight stays in huts and hotels, and a climbing certificate. The highest point on the route is 5895 metres.
