A trek across the Olmany Marshes with an overnight stay at a country estate. The tour includes transport from Minsk and an introduction to the character of Polesie; the Olmany Marshes are described as the largest in Europe.

What happens

  • On Saturday, the group sets off from Minsk; the drive to Tereblichi is fairly long. Breakfast with sandwiches and a visit to the local museum are planned there.
  • After the museum, the group travels by ZIL truck to the edge of the Olmany Marshes. A 18 km hike then begins, with a snack break along the way.
  • At the other edge of the marsh, a minibus meets the group and takes them to an agro-estate, where a sauna, dinner and time to relax are planned.
  • On Sunday, the schedule includes breakfast at 09:00, a trek across the marsh to the Small and Large Zasomin Lakes, a visit to the nature trail, lunch and departure for Minsk.

What to bring

Rubber boots are essential; long ones are preferable if possible.

  • Everything is included in the price.
  • Citizens of the Republic of Belarus need a passport. Citizens of the Russian Federation can apply for a border-zone permit independently and in advance.
