Participants will observe birds in their natural habitat, listen to their songs and learn about bird ringing. They will also attend a lecture on urban planning and birds in the city.
What happens
- The lecture will explore how urban planning relates to environmental and bird conservation, why fieldfares choose power lines and traffic lights, which birds live alongside people, why green corridors are needed, and how to design cities that support biodiversity.
- During the birdwatching, participants will listen to birdsong. Some species are singing now just as they do in spring.
- Participants will learn about the work of ornithologists, why birds are ringed and how ringing benefits them. They will look at different species and learn to distinguish males from females, and adult birds from young ones.
