You’ll explore everyday Japanese tea culture through asamushi sencha and genmaicha. Genmaicha has notes of the sea and popcorn, and its full-bodied flavour includes umami, the “fifth taste” of the Far East.
What happens
You’ll hold a warm cup and learn about asamushi sencha: the tea leaves are traditionally steamed. The tea combines notes of greenery, sea breeze and cream, with a distinctly sweet-and-sour finish.
Who leads it
Tatiana will lead the ceremony. She spent a couple of years in Kyoto.
Good to know
- Traditional daifuku mochi will be served with the tea. “Daifuku” means “great fortune”; food is not usually served at Chaynaya Pochta, so the mochi will be a treat from LinguaLand for this gathering.
- The group has 12 places.
How to sign up
You can reserve a place via the organiser’s link.
More from the organizer
The ceremony is organised by LinguaLand and Chaynaya Pochta. It will take place at Chaynaya Pochta’s new venue.
