You’ll take portraits on medium-format cameras and shoot reportage with SLR cameras, then develop the film and make cyanotype prints.
What happens
- On Friday, you’ll get to know the cameras and film in an introductory class.
- On Saturday and Sunday, you’ll shoot around the city and take part in a cyanotype workshop.
- Film developing and a movie are planned for Monday.
- On Tuesday, you’ll review the photographs, followed by a party.
Who it suits
The intensive is designed for both beginners and those who already shoot film. You don’t need to bring your own camera.
Who leads it
The intensive is led by Minsk photographers Maksim Shumilin and Olga Zhuk, founders of the «Мiр 1959» analogue photography studio. Maksim has been shooting film since 2004 and has exhibited in Minsk, Moscow, Berlin, Warsaw and other cities. Olga leads workshops on darkroom printing and cyanotype in Minsk and other European cities.
Good to know
- Cameras, film, all materials, developing, scans and the cyanotype workshop are included in the intensive.
- After the intensive, you’ll have scans of all your shots and cyanotype prints. You can take the film home if you wish.
- Weekday classes take place in the evenings, with shoots planned for the weekend, so you can fit the intensive around work.
- There are 6 places in the group.
- If you need support, you can arrange an additional online consultation with the instructors.
