Meditation cannot be summoned by an act of will, but conditions can be created for it to happen. The meeting explores meditation, states of consciousness and techniques.
What happens
- The discussion considers whether meditation can be practised without a Teacher: a person can pursue spiritual development independently, make discoveries and get to know themselves and the world better, but without a guide the path may be long and difficult. The Teacher’s role is described as helping someone sense the state, by comparing it to a forgotten scent of roses and a person who brings that scent.
- The discussion covers expectations of quick results and the conditions that affect whether the process can be accelerated: inner focus, preparation and the evolutionary path.
- Dmitry Kovalenko compares meditation to falling in love: it cannot be summoned by an act of will, but conditions can be created. The gradual clearing of the space of thoughts is also discussed, with a suggestion to observe their flow without engaging in thought, allowing thoughts to pass like clouds.
- At the meeting, attendees can learn about meditation, states of consciousness and techniques.
